Hello, friend – my name is Leslee and I am the girl behind the HHB blog! Thank you for stopping by!


I am a 20-something currently living in the suburbs of Philadelphia. My days are spent as a graduate student studying nutrition and working as a nutrition intern for the Philadelphia School District. I am in the process of pursuing my RD credentials, and will officially begin my dietetic internship with an emphasis on clinical dietetics in the fall of 2016. After completing my internship in summer of 2017 I plan to sit for the RD exam – wish me luck, please!

My journey towards becoming an RD has taken a bit of a winding road. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at the Pennsylvania State University – WE ARE! After graduating, I spent some time working in science as a lab manager and researcher for a cancer lab at The University of Pennsylvania. Working in a cancer lab could be stressful, and I found myself spending all of my free time unwinding from the workday through fitness. I loved to work out in the gym, spend time creating new recipes in the kitchen, and read up on the latest news in nutrition. Once I discovered this passion for health, I knew I needed to go back to school to learn more, so graduate school it was! I will be graduating with my M.S. degree this summer – I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! 🙂

I like to spend my free time being active. Running, lifting weights, practicing yoga, and mountain biking are some of my favorite ways to get moving. I can also shop with the best of them and love experimenting with new trends.

In this blog, I will share some of the tips that I have learned to help with the balancing act of eating and working out. I’m a big foodie and believe in indulging your senses in the tastiest hot wings and creamiest gelato you can find. I just like to follow up my treats with sweat sessions to keep in shape. All in moderation, including moderation! Along my journey, I’ll share with you some of my favorite recipes, workouts, fashion finds, and the happenings in my life. I’m just a girl who is striving to find her happy balance!
