Alo Yoga Summer Line & Workout Wear {GIVEAWAY!}

by Her Happy Balance on May 20, 2014

I was introduced to Alo Yoga, a fitness clothing brand that focuses on being kind to the earth, back in January. The Drape Backed Performance Tank has been in my workout clothing rotation consistently since then. Even after a dozen or so washes the shirt still looks brand new, the black didn’t fade or anything. Does anyone else hate when black shirts fade to grey/black? #clothingpetpeeve

Any way, I was thrilled when I was asked to review their new Summer 2014 line! I had such a difficult time narrowing down my selections. I ended up choosing the Goddess Bra in Envy, the Cinder Long Sleeve Top in Blush, the Brook Long Sleeve Top in Dark Heather Grey, and the Element Jacket.

Alo Yoga Clothing

The Goddess Bra – $48

I liked this sports bra so much that I’ve decided I’m buying another one in either Blush or Spectrum. I am such a sucker for bras and shirts with interesting backs and it doesn’t get any cooler looking than this. The bra has a mesh ventilated section on the front to help keep everything cool and collected πŸ˜‰ The material is sweat-wicking and anti-microbial. My only caveat is that this sports bra may not be the best choice for bustier women, as it only provides moderate support. But it has worked for me at yoga, lifting, and during my daily routine. I haven’t tried it out running just yet, so I’ll have to report back with my findings later.

Alo Yoga Clothing

The Cinder Long Sleeve Top – $56

This top is very lightweight, designed for yoga or as a cover up going from practice to home. It has ribbed sleeves and a super cute back! I love the look of this shirt, it is slightly off the shoulder and it feels super soft. I think if I ordered it again, I might choose it a size smaller, but I really enjoy the flowy effect it gives. The color I chose is currently sold out, but the Spectrum color is gorgeous as well.

Alo Yoga Clothing

Brook Long Sleeve Top – $72

The material this top is made of {french terry, cotton, viscose, and spandex} is a bit heavier; it would be perfect for a chillier day going to and from practice. I like the drop neck detail and ribbed sleeves. The top also has a pocket in the front that is convenient for storing keys and lip balm when I’m towing my yoga mat to and from my car. Did I mention the back cut-out is adorable? It’s like a fancy sweatshirt πŸ™‚ If I ordered this again, I might go up a size, but that’s only because I like my sweatshirts to be a bit roomier. The shirts were very true to size though.

Alo yoga clothing

The Element Jacket – $89

I am pretty much obsessed with this one. I’ve worn it all over the place! It was the perfect travel companion to Disney. I wore it on the plane ride and the long sleeves kept my arms warm. But when I got out into the Florida air, the mesh back kept me cool and I wasn’t immediately trying to take the sweatshirt off. The hood is great too because I hate holding an umbrella and prefer to just hide my head away from the rain. I don’t know if I’m cursed or what but I’d say about 75% of the time I’m leaving hot yoga, it ends up pouring outside. Usually all I have on is a tank top and bikram shorts, this will definitely be coming in handy. Again the back details sucked me in. It takes an average hoodie and amps it up a notch.

Not sure if my comment went thru or not… My fave pose is Pigeon! Love how it opens up my hips and sometimes when I am feeling gumby like I do a bind and it’s an amazing release! I think you should go with blush too!
