Alo Yoga & {Discount code}

by Her Happy Balance on February 11, 2014

You know that feeling that you get after a really hard workout? The one where you feel completely drained and completely full of life all at the same time? That’s the feeling I get after finishing a hot vinyasa session. Clarity, balance, and a feeling of being centered are some of the other great benefits yoga brings me.

Recently, I decided to treat myself to another package of yoga classes. In anticipation of my rekindled love affair with hot yoga, I decided I needed to update my wardrobe a bit. I was looking online for clothes that would be multi-functional. Now, I have my fair share of skin tight, tiny hot yoga shorts, but I don’t prefer to wear those on a run or while lifting weights in the gym. Not trying to show the goods off too much πŸ˜‰ So, I was looking for pieces that would work for the yoga studio as well as the gym, and I think I found my match when I stumbled upon Alo Yoga.

Alo Yoga

Alo – which stands for Air Land Ocean – makes clothing for both men and women that are made from high quality {and eco-friendly!} fabrics that feel as good as they look. I opted to try the Airbrushed Capri in Black Texture Print….

Alo Yoga Pants

….and the the Drape Back Performance Tank in Black/Deep Electric Blue.

Alo shirt

First of all, I really loved the feel of the materials. The capris were very stretchy and felt like a second skin, which is very important to me when practicing yoga. Nothing is worse than having to constantly readjust your clothing when the elastic doesn’t hold and keep them in place. The pants also did a good job of wicking sweat away.

As for the shirt, I adore the style! The open details of the back are super cute! The color of the bra is gorgeous too, the pictures really don’t do it justice. The built in bra of the shirt did a great job of wicking sweat away and included removable padding to help out the ladies πŸ˜‰

Me wearing alo shirt

I thought both pieces were very figure flattering as well – the shirt did not show any lines of the bra underneath it (back bulge is not cute!) and the pants grazed over my legs and fit smoothly. I’ve worn both of the pieces to the studio as well as to the gym and they’ve worked well for all different types of workouts. My only caveat is that the clothing is a bit pricey, but you really are paying for quality. The prices are very much in line with the going rate for yoga clothing and I think they are very competitive. My Alo pieces have held up really well even after multiple washings. That’s not something I can say about some other cheaper pieces I have in my wardrobe.

Now the fun part, Alo Yoga has offered a discount of 20% off of your order between now and the end of March {2014} when you use code HHB20 at check out. Happy shopping! πŸ˜‰ I’ve got my eye on the Raya Draped Back Tank…

Have you ever tried any pieces from Alo Yoga before?
What’s important to you when choosing workout clothes?
Style? Brand? Comfort?
Hot vinyasa or bikram?

FTC: I was gifted a shirt and capris from Alo Yoga to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have the craziest obsession with work out clothing, probably because it’s so very comfortable and it’s ALL I WEAR!! That drape back top looks suspiciously like Lululemon’s NO LIMIT tank, but hey – THAT TOP is my favorite and I have 5 million of them so I AM ALL OVER THIS NEW VERSION! It looks flipping phenomenal on you, they should hire you as their model! πŸ™‚

Cute clothes! I like that comfy top. When it comes to exercise gear, I opt for color and comfort. Yes, I like to look good at the gym with bright colors. It makes my workout stronger. πŸ™‚

I’m a big fan of Hard Tail yoga pants. Have you heard of those? I want to try Lululemon yoga pants. Still haven’t tried them!

Those are SOOOO adorable! Especially that top! Also, that blue is a great color on your! I definitely need to check out this company, because I have a horrible habit of wearing a tshirt and yoga pants to class. Shame on me!

I’m not sure which is cuter – the top or bottoms. I do know that I want them both though =) Ha!

Omg all that stuff is so cute!! I seriously own more workout clothes than normal clothes, but most of them are old soccer t-shirts that I have cut into tanks. I typically hit up Marshalls and TJ Max for my fitness gear since they carry name brand stuff at super low prices.
