Six Beauty Must-Haves

by Her Happy Balance on August 8, 2016

Hey, friends! I thought I would do something a little different today and share some of my beauty must-haves with you all. To be honest, I am pretty low key when it comes to getting ready in the morning, and I don’t like to spend too much money on make-up and beauty products. But every once and a while I will find an item worth the splurge. This list is a mix of products – ones that I have recently incorporated into my routine as well as old favorites.

Make-up Must-Haves

1.) Pura D’or Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo ($21.99). So, I shed. A lot. And being a blonde my hair is already naturally thin, so I am a fan of any and all things that can provide a little extra volume. This shampoo is AMAZING. All the women in my family are using it now and I have gotten a couple of friends on board too. I have been using it for a month and a half now and I see this being a new staple. When I am in the shower using it I can feel my hair getting thicker. Sounds weird, but just try it.

2.) Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Nectarine ($26). I really gravitate towards that classic, timeless look and am all about a red lip. This color is not too bright and crazy and can still come across as natural.

3.) Covergirl Smoothers Pressed Powder ($7.99). I keep a compact of this in my purse make-up bag with me at all times. I cannot stand when my nose gets shiny throughout the day – a few blots with this and you’re good to go.

4.) Hydrogen Peroxide ($1.09). I noticed my teeth were starting to get a little stained last fall. So I did an at-home whitening treatment on them and it whitened those babies right up. But whitening treatments that actually work are expensive. So to keep my teeth looking fresh to death I rinse with hydrogen peroxide. I actually have a fun little DIY whitening treatment to share with you all soon, so stay on the lookout for that!

5.) Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara ($22). Last year while doing some Christmas shopping I hit up a huge sale at my favorite, local beauty store. While buying my girlfriends gifts, I may have stumbled on to a little present for myself. Usually I just use drugstore brand mascaras and call it a day, but I splurged a little on this Smashbox one. I used this mascara until it totally died, then went back to the store and bought another at the no-sale price because I liked it that much. It gives my pale lashes color and lots of volume, win!

6.) Johnson’s Baby No-More-Tears Shampoo ($3.50). I know that you should take your make up off at night, but 99.9% of the time I do not. When I am ready for bed, I am ready – trucking it into the bathroom to take off my face is the last thing I feel like doing. Plus, I wear Bare Minerals, so I don’t have too terribly much foundation/concealer/face junk to remove. But homegirl is all about some eye make-up. Every time I get in the shower I use this tear-free shampoo to take off my mascara and massage my eye lashes. I am still hoping they’ll grow to unnatural lengths with the extra massage step. But it definitely gives me clean eyes to put new make-up on to, ain’t nobody got time for the racoon look!

There you have it – a mix of great cheapies and a few splurges that make my beauty world go round.

Thanks for reading, friends! Let me know in the comments about some of your beauty must-haves!

I NEED that shampoo! I shed like crazy and it drives my husband crazy. Gonna try and find it on Amazon because I’ve never seen it before! Thanks for the recommend!

Some Bed Bath & Beyond stores carry it too and if you use one of their 20% off a single product coupons you are golden 🙂

Yahoo! Thanks for telling me, I’ll definitely check BB&B before Amazon!
