Conscious Box Review

by Her Happy Balance on March 21, 2013

The awesome people at Conscious Box were kind enough to send me one of their boxes for review, and it was jam-packed with some fantastic products! So what exactly is Conscious Box? It is a monthly subscription service where you will receive a box each month full of eco-friendly products.

“Conscious Box is the best way to discover the most ethical and sustainable products on the planet! Focusing on strict tenets of organic, fair trade, and pure and natural products, each month Conscious Box will introduce you to healthy and honest alternatives for every aspect of your life and for every member of your family. Discover the best natural products, earn points for leaving feedback and reviews, and buy your favorites at incredible discounts!” – Conscious Box

Sounds pretty good right? Here’s a peek at what mine looked like and what all the goodies were inside!

Loved seeing this on the outside of the package!

The taste of that little Peanut Butter mini was OUT OF THIS WORLD.

And all three bars can be found in the refrigerated section of your grocery store.

As for the baby products, I am not actually an infant (shocker) but I will probably still use the stain remover and body wash anyway…just because I’m not a baby doesn’t mean I can’t be messy ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m intrigued by the probiotic drink. ย I’ve never heard of that before, but I’m always up for trying something new. That’s the point of the box, right? And I am SO excited to make the lentil soup one night.

Here’s what I thought of the box overall:

Pros:

  • First and foremost, the quality of the products was fantastic. It’s nice to know that you’re getting to try new items that aren’t going to hurt the environment. Each product boasted something different (organic, GMO-free, alcohol-free, fair trade, etc.)
  • The box was literally stuffed to capacity! They really made the most of the space and the box evenย included a few full-sized products!
  • It’s not just a monthly food subscription box. ย I would call it a lifestyle box as it included items that could be used outside of the kitchen.
  • With every Conscious Box purchase, you earn points that you can redeem on their website for merchandise.
  • “Conscious Box is also a supporter of jobs here in the United States. We only employ American workers who receive fair wages for the packing and shipping of boxes. All employees of Conscious Box are also encouraged to speak their minds and help the company move forward. To us, this is a family more than a business.” That’s awesome.
  • Conscious Box is a member of 1% For The Planet. Therefore, at least 1% of their annual income goes towards supporting environmental organizations.
  • The box you receive your goodies in is made from recycled materials and you can take it one step further and recycle the box after using your products!
  • Vegan and gluten-free boxes are available.

Cons:

  • Little pricier than other boxes, it retails for $19.95/month. I honestly think the price is worth it though.
  • I wish there was an option where you could tell Conscious Box what type of family you are a member of. As in, I wish I could request not to get samples geared towards babies, as I am not a mother and do not have younger siblings.

*I was given Conscious Box to try, all thoughts and opinions are my own*

Thoughts??

Have you ever tried this box? Would you?

What product would you most like to try?

I haven’t heard of Conscious Box but it sounds like an interesting concept. I wonder how many subscribers they have. I would definitely love to try the Moroccan spice rub – let us know how the lentil soup turns out! ๐Ÿ™‚

I know that they recently revamped their website, so I guess they’re doing pretty well. I’ll let you know how it goes. I love trying new recipes!

Molly March 21, 2013 at 9:47 am

Is it bad that I’m just sue the baby products on myself? haha

Molly March 21, 2013 at 9:47 am

and by “sue”, I mean “use.” I need more coffee.

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:48 am

LOL. Hope you got your caffeine fix. And it’s totally acceptable, I plan on doing that too haha

Flake And Cake March 21, 2013 at 8:48 am

It looks great! I haven’t heard of them in the UK but it sounds so much fun to have a new box of presents every month!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:44 am

I love monthly subscription boxes, mostly just because I LOVE snail mail!

Alex @ therunwithin March 21, 2013 at 9:09 am

I love those go raw bars. so tasty!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:45 am

Ditto! It was kind of like an adult version of a fruit roll up. That may be pushing it, but it was still delish.

maureenbreakingfree March 21, 2013 at 9:15 am

that looks so cool! I’m jealous of the fun stuff you get to review ๐Ÿ˜‰

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:47 am

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:47 am

Now the fun part, trying them all!

blonde hair blue eyed runner March 21, 2013 at 9:55 am

that seems like a good deal, and some great things to try!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:49 am

It does seem to be worth the money, especially considering healthy/organic/GMOfree products do tend to be on the pricier side.

Running In Heels March 21, 2013 at 11:10 am

So much stuff in that box! It seems like a great deal!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:50 am

I think so too, especially since healthy food tends to be expensive.

Sarah March 21, 2013 at 10:55 am

Interesting idea…ive never heard of them, sounds neat though! Always good to try new things!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:49 am

Agreed ๐Ÿ™‚ This box beats the heck out of some of the Birchboxes I received.

jumpeatrun March 21, 2013 at 11:54 am

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:50 am

I’m thinking about trying a gluten-free box and I’m not even gluten intolerant! So many fun things.

Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen March 21, 2013 at 12:45 pm

I want that peanut butter bar- looks so good!

Her Happy Balance March 22, 2013 at 7:51 am

Best thing I’ve tried in the box so far. Pure peanut butter taste but somehow it managed to be healthy!

RachLapchak March 21, 2013 at 1:03 pm
