Have you ever wondered what it would be like to switch lives with a member of the opposite sex? Being a guy for one day might be an interesting experience, but I think we women won the gender lottery. I love being a girl and all the perks that come along with it. For instance, it is perfectly acceptable for us to go on “retail therapy” sprees. A good hair day always guarantees us a great day. And we all know that there is nothing quite like the secret magic that goes down during a girls’ night. But being a female also means we have that dreaded week each month that tends to throw our lives into a tizzy. Well, it really doesn’t have to be that way.
Finding the right type of protection is pretty key to leading a normal and uninterrupted life during your period. I did the demo, and tried out the U by Kotex Sleek brand tampons. Nobody wants to slow down just because they have their period. With Kotex, I was able to enjoy running in a beachy 5k down the shore. I felt worry free knowing Kotex had my back. In fact, my period was the last thing on my mind that day. I was just concerned with running my best race and focusing on my breathing.
We’ve come a long way from the days of cardboard tampon applicators and bulky packaging. Luckily, Kotex tampons are sleek in size and can easily fit into a clutch or purse so you’ll never have to worry about being without protection. The wrapper also doesn’t scream “tampon” as it is black and relatively discreet. As for the tampon itself, it has a no slip grip so there is no awkward fumbling around. It doesn’t hurt that it comes in a fun purple color, too. It’s the little things, people. I prefer regular, unscented protection, but these come in other absorbencies to meet every woman’s needs.
I wrote this review while participating in a content series through Clever Girls Collective on behalf of U by Kotex, and received products to facilitate my post and compensation for my time to participate.
