Feetures! Sock Review and Giveaway

by Her Happy Balance on May 22, 2013

Ever since I started running, I have become somewhat of a sock snob. I really do not want my lack of proper footwear to be the reason I have an unsuccessful run. Blisters because of short socks? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Sore soles because of wearing some old Hanes ankle socks? Sorry Michael Jordan, I require arch support. So, because I am a nerd, I find myself frequently googling things like “cute and colorful running socks that won’t make my feet hate me” and then I come up with this – Feetures! socks.

Why Feetures?

“Since the beginning, all of our products have featured the Perfect Toeโ€”our trademarked seam-free toe closure. The “Perfect Toe” is hand-linked so both the inside and outside surface of the sock are completely smooth, eliminating the irritation and discomfort caused by traditional toe seams. In addition, we use a combination of the world’s best natural and synthetic moisture managing fibers that not only work to keep your feet dry, but also feel soft against your skin.” -Feetures!

Considering I was so lucky as to inherit the genes for weird toenails, I am always a fan of socks without a seam at the toe. And I was stoked when the awesome people at Feetures! offered me the opportunity to try a few pairs of their socks so that I could find my favorite fit. I received the Elite Light Cushion sock, Elite Ultra Light sock, and the High Performance Ultra Light sock. Here’s a breakdown of each product:

Elite Light Cushion

  • Has the Perfect Toe (no seams!)
  • Moisture-wicking (because sweaty feet are gross)
  • Has the Power Arch (I definitely need arch support and felt this really helped my feet)
  • High Density Cushioning to help your feet against high impact surfaces
  • No show tab, so you don’t look like you’re wearing old man socks when you run.
  • Check out those Power Arches!

    Elite Ultra Light

  • Has the Perfect Toe
  • Moisture-wicking
  • Has the Power Arch
  • No show tab
  • Ultra thin and light construction sock that won’t take up a lot of space inside your shoe
  • They're even idiot proof with an R for your right foot and L for your left...I switched the socks to the correct feet after this photo ;)

    High Performance Ultra Light

  • Has the Perfect Toe
  • Moisture-wicking
  • “SnugFit Technologyโ„ขโ€”Unique Power Bands of Lycraยฎ hug your entire foot for maximum support. This snug, supportive fit eliminates movement to prevent blisters.”
  • Mesh on top of the sock allows your foot to breathe
  • “Y-heel construction keeps sock from sliding into the shoe”
  • High Density Cushioning to help your feet against high impact surfaces
  • No show tab

All of their socks come in sizes small through extra large. And if you prefer to have a higher sock, they offer every length from no show ankle length to knee highs. My favorite part about the socks is that they come in ridiculously fun colors and they are very affordable. The socks I was sent ranged from $10.99 – $14.99 a pair. My feet really noticed the difference on a run from socks with zero support to these beauties with that lovely Power Arch.

Because the people at Feetures! are so cool, they have offered a free pair of either the Elites or High Performance socks (your choice!) to one HHB reader!

Definitely look for socks that hinder blisters and wick away sweat!

Her Happy Balance May 22, 2013 at 9:36 am

    You said it, girlfriend!

    meredith May 22, 2013 at 8:07 am

I am all about foot comfort – the key for my foot happiness is to not notice or think about my feet when I am running. Socks are just as important as the shoes. I haven’t tried this brand before but certainly would if it meant my feet would be happy lol.

Her Happy Balance May 22, 2013 at 9:36 am

I really love the cushioning of these, definitely some happy feet ๐Ÿ™‚

    Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures May 22, 2013 at 9:23 am

Weird toenails? ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ You’re meant to be a runner then! I love this post because I’ve been going through the same thing when it comes to learning about the right kinds of socks for running. I’ve found some similar ones to these, though they are pricier (yuck) so I don’t have many pairs. I love the mint colored socks the best! I shall get them immediately, per your rec! But really, I couldn’t agree more with the importance of a sock with some support and all the other good features a sock should have. Really, it’s worth the investment so that you have no excuses when you run. Plus, new and fun things make you run faster, it’s scientific fact. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a fab day my friend, less than three your pretty face! Here comes some hard math for the day….

Her Happy Balance May 22, 2013 at 9:44 am

LOL Meg you brighten up my day! I was in such a bad mood this morning and your comment made it about a billion times better. I am sorry about the hard math. What really gets me is when they give you the answer and you have to figure out the variable to get there…SO TOUGH. Haha math was never my strong suit in school, oh well. And yeah I really liked these socks, love the arch support and cushioning. After years of wearing Uggs I have become somewhat but not completely flat-footed and need the support. Feel like such a grandma saying “I need support” lol. Anywho, have a great day, beautiful! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Meredith N. May 22, 2013 at 9:33 am

Extra cushioning! and pretty colors, of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Her Happy Balance May 22, 2013 at 9:44 am

The pretty colors make you run faster, I am sure of it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness May 22, 2013 at 9:41 am

Those look like some awesome socks!! I am all about the perfect socks as the first line of defense against blisters- nothings worse! they have to high enough on my ankle to protect from that but not so high i feel like I’d be protected in a flood. breathable is also a must, and just the right amount of thickness. wow i never realized til this moment how picky i am about socks!!

ps 6 times what is 42… the math problem that i’m supposed to solve to prove im not a robot is so hard todayyyy… i think this one is better suited for a robot. give me the 5 minus what = 4 questions any day ๐Ÿ™‚

Her Happy Balance May 22, 2013 at 9:46 am

HAHA ๐Ÿ™‚ At least having to do “hard” math wakes you up in the morning. I have to do a problem to log-in to my account too and I am occasionally blown away by some of the problems they throw in there lol. At least there’s no division…then no one would comment on my blog at all! Oh well, it’s stopped the spammers, finally! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Rachel @ Undercover Diva: A Sitcom May 22, 2013 at 9:50 am

I’m still looking for the perfect sock, but I have relatively flat feet and I always seem to get blisters in the same place, so I’d be interested to try these out!

    Laurel C May 22, 2013 at 9:55 am

They have to wick moisture and be comfortable, and not cause blisters!!

    Chelsea @ LittleOneRuns May 22, 2013 at 10:46 am

These are too cool!! I love how much arch support they have, and they look like my feet wouldn’t suffocate! Big win in my book ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl May 22, 2013 at 10:47 am

These socks look awesome. I love that they have the Power Arch feature, which is something that I really need when it comes to athletic socks. I am loving the colors, too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Caitlyn @ City and the Cubicle May 22, 2013 at 10:57 am

I think the only thing I look for is length. I like them to be higher than my sneakers so I don’t get blisters but I don’t want them to be SO high, haha. Also colors because I am the worst and laziest at matching socks so colors helps me out ๐Ÿ™‚

Alyssa @ Road to RD May 22, 2013 at 11:52 am

I never really thought of myself as a sock snob but those look super comfy and cute!

Jess @ JessieBear What Will You Wear? May 22, 2013 at 12:04 pm

Ohhhh man I need new socks.

    Beth Sheridan@sugarcoatedsheridans May 22, 2013 at 1:43 pm

Oh these look amazing! I just got my first pair of Pro Compression socks and I really like them but I’m always on the lookout for good workout socks ๐Ÿ™‚

Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen May 22, 2013 at 2:28 pm

Interesting…I never even think about my socks when I workout although I definitely should! Cool giveaway!

Cristi Rae May 22, 2013 at 3:24 pm

I am ABSOLUTELY a sock snob!! At least when it comes to my running socks (and any running apparel, actually). I need thin, moisture-wicking socks with a bit more support around the arch. I wear nearly-barefoot shoes, so I need to feel like my socks aren’t weighing my feet down. My favorite pair WAS made by Nike, but they are discontinued now. I am wearing the four pairs that I have on hand until they wear out! I’d love to try the Feetures! socks because it sounds like they are right up my alley. And I need a new brand now that my Nikes are discontinued!! =)

    Ann May 22, 2013 at 7:02 pm

    i love my socks!

    Nicole @ FruitnFitness May 22, 2013 at 9:49 pm

I’m really picky about socks. I like ones with padding on the bottom and around the edge but not on the top of your foot. I also want ones that aren’t going to give bad blisters.

    Meredith May 23, 2013 at 9:02 am

These look and sound like some good running socks! I am always looking for thick enough socks that will offer some support and won’t slide off my feet even when I’m gross and sweaty running! I can’t stand when my socks ruin my run, it has happened to me so many times!

    Danielle @ It's A Harleyyy Life May 23, 2013 at 10:53 am

I like when my feet can breathe!

    Lesli May 23, 2013 at 1:24 pm

I am definitely a sock snob as well! I love socks with arch support. And they have to be tall enough so that my shoes don’t rub the back of my feet but not so tall they stick out haha. That’s why i love the no show tab on these!

    Carrie May 23, 2013 at 1:24 pm

    Thin dry weave.

Ari @ The Pace of it All May 23, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Oooh I like those, especially the colorful ones. Are they thin? My thing is, I hate thick socks.. makes my feet feel sweaty before I even start running!

    Chani May 23, 2013 at 7:23 pm

Definitely need some sweat wicking socks!!

Maureen @ Breaking Free & Finding Me May 23, 2013 at 8:51 pm

I’ve been loving pro-compression socks lately, but these look fun! how do you compare to pro-compression for you?

    Marie May 23, 2013 at 11:33 pm

    Love soft cushioning

    Becky @ Olives n Wine May 24, 2013 at 9:31 am

I’ve always wanted to try out these socks ๐Ÿ™‚ Woohoo!!

    Angela May 26, 2013 at 10:30 pm

Have always wanted to try these! Thanks for doing this!
