Half Marathon Training – Week 6 Recap!

by Her Happy Balance on August 12, 2014

Happy Tuesday, folks! How is your day shaping up? Hopefully it’s a great one.

I cannot believe that I am now officially 50% through training for my first half marathon. It hasn’t sunk in yet that in a little over a month I will be running 13.1 miles. Is this real life?! I am going to try to just trust that my training will get me through it. The long runs have started to really push my limits and I’ll be going on double digit runs soon. Holy shmoly.

So this week’s long run went over wayyy better than last weeks. I woke up, ate some peanut butter and saltine cracker sandwiches, waited a little while for it to digest then set off on my run. It was a gorgeous day with a light breeze from the sea. I popped some shotblocks a little after 4 miles, finished out my run on the sand and then came home and chugged water. No GI issues, nothing 🙂 It was awesome. I spent the rest of the day on the beach!

Thoughts??
When is your next race?
Where is your favorite place to go running?

Beach runs are the best! And all this talk about half marathons and marathons between you and Becky is really making me want to give it a try!

Ohh nice training week hun! Glad to hear the stomach issues were cleared up this week 🙂 my favorite place to run are the trails along the river in the burgh. It’s peaceful there, and you’ll only run into other runners or bikers. I had the whole thing to myself this morning, and it was glorious. My next race isn’t until September 14..::Erie half with my friends! Excited to cheer them on for BQs and make some slightly better racing memories up there 😉

You are doing awesome!
My next Race isn’t until next July, so I have a while yet haha. I am going to sign up for more before then though.

9 miles is AWESOME!! You are going to crush your half! I’m running in a 5k this weekend, but just as a fun run and not a race. I’m glad to hear you worked out all your GI issues!
