So, that happened.

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve lost my mind. Last week I did something a little insane…

Marathon confirmation

Okay, a lot insane. Yup – I am actually paying to run my butt across 26.2 miles. That’s probably not very normal. I can definitely say that this is not something I thought I’d ever do. But it just feels right to do this now. 2014 was the year I tackled my first half marathon. 2015 will be the year I conquer the full. Needless to say, I’m really excited about this new adventure and also nervous as heck!

I’m currently looking over a couple of different training plans and trying to figure out what will work best for me and my schedule. I’ll share the plan I decide to use on HHB once I choose one. I’m looking to train for 20-22 weeks or so. And I’d like my longest pre-marathon run to be in the 22-24 mile range. To all my seasoned marathoner friends – I would absolutely love to hear about the plan you used for your first marathon!

So, that happened. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Help me, I’ve lost my last marble.

Catch you in November, Philly Marathon! Annnnnnd cue the Rocky music…

Yay!!! You are officially crazy now : ) All the training plans I had led me up to 20 miles before the race. I was nervous about not doing a run closer to 26, but I talked to several marathon friends and they said it was because you don’t want to wear your body completely out before the race. That’s always stuck with me. Just take care of your body because it is a lot of wear and tear on it. You will do awesome!

Oh my gosh good luck!! How fun is that! I would never do one but I love seeing others push themselves and complete it 🙂

That’s so exciting! Maybe one day I’ll do a full marathon, but for now I have ZERO interest. However, I will be cheering you on in november!!

EXCITINGGGG!! Congrats girl! I would say that my one piece of advice is to train with a group. It makes all the difference in the world! And you can’t skip a run even if you want to 😉

That is awesome! Congrats!!

I’m doing my first half this year and I feel like I’ve lost my last marble too LOL

My advice would be to create a kick-ass playlist to listen to while running, even if you only use it for training.

And FYI, the Rocky theme is the final song on my playlist 😉

So exciting!!! I can’t wait to hear all about your plan and how your training goes! I keep saying I’ll NEVER do a full, but then somewhere in the back of my brain is a voice that keeps saying “well maybe someday…”. So right now I’m going to live vicariously through you, while I work up the nerve to do the same crazy thing myself!!

Congrats and good luck girl!!!

So awesome! I think the hardest part about a marathon is committing to it. Once you sign up, you’re pretty much there I think! One day I’ll be brave like you!
