Mizuno Wave Rider 18 Review

by Her Happy Balance on October 22, 2014

Ever since I started running, I’ve heard pavement crushing enthusiasts talk and swoon over the brand Mizuno. The shoes I wore for my first half marathon were on their last leg, so it was perfect timing when I found out I could give the Mizuno Wave Rider 18s a try.  And I have to say…these shoes really do live up to the hype!

Mizuno running shoes

The Mizuno Wave Rider 18 is a lightweight (only 7.8 oz!) neutral running shoe. In the past I’ve worn supportive running shoes, but this shoe provides just the right amount of support to make it a great shoe for runners of all needs. The Mizuno Wave Technology® provides a nice stable ride from landing to toe-off. These shoes are perfect for crushing leaves too 😉

Another dynamic feature of these shoes is their Dynamotion Fit…see what I did there? 😉  The Dynamotion Fit helps to keep these shoes from distorting by relieving the stress that the foot naturally puts on footwear. So I’m looking forward to keeping these shoes in my sneaker rotation for a good, long while. They’re been super durable. Plus, I’m just a teeny bit obsessed with the colors. I’m wearing the Black / Silver/ Florida Keys color scheme. I know that color isn’t supposed to be a deciding factor when you buy running shoes…but these sure are some beauties. Coooome to mama!

Wearing Mizunos

Me and my new Mizuno friends are going to spend many happy miles together. So far we’ve pounded some pavement and sweated it out on the treadmill together. Next up? I’m thinking we hit some trails!

Thoughts??
Have you ever worn Mizuno running shoes?
What are some features you look for in your running shoes?
How long do you keep yours around? As soon as I can notice the heels of my shoes are starting wear, then I know its time for some fresh kicks.

I’ve actually never tried Mizunos. I’ve heard rave reviews about them though, so I guess I need to eventually.
