Salba Smart Review & Giveaway!

I think it is fair to say that the benefits of chia seeds are becoming very well known. Many people are adding them to their smoothies, and recently I tried my hand at making strawberry chia pudding. Both of those ways are great to get in your serving of Omega 3’s, but wouldn’t it be cool if we could take in chia without even noticing it was there? Enter Salba Smart

The kind people at Salba Smart generously sent me a bag of their organic yellow corn tortilla chips, organic white corn tortilla chips, a jar of their medium salsa, and a box of their packets of ground chia seed to try out.

Okay, first things, their salsa is freakin’ delicious! I mean it blows your normal jarred Ortega or Chi Chi’s salsa out of the water. It tastes really fresh, and the jar did not last long! Plus, all of their products are made with organic, Non-GMO, and gluten-free ingredients. I was able to easily pronounce every ingredient on the back of both the chip and salsa nutritional labels. And of course, everything is loaded with chia seeds so you are taking in anywhere from 160mg (serving of salsa) to 300mg (serving of tortilla chips) of Omega-3 fatty acids. Oh yeah, and the chips have 4g of fiber and 2g of protein per serving. Yeah…imma eat that. I recently made taco salads for dinner one night and instead of using salad dressing, I opted for the chia salsa. The tortilla chips were a great crouton substitute, too.

And it was really nice to have individual packets of ground chia seed servings ready to go. I had been bringing a ziplock baggie of chia seeds in my lunch bag to work and occasionally the seeds would spill into the bottom of my bag which was never fun. With the individual servings, you just rip the top off, pour on your food, and dispose of the wrapper. Ahh, sweet convenience.

Chia seeds and chips/salsa are some of my favorite food items! I would love to try these. I have chia seeds every day either sprinkled on toast or in smoothies.

I love Chia seeds! I actually did a post a while back about their benefits and there are many!! I haven’t tried the Salba food products, but they look great!

Look at you with all this cool stuff!! I don’t eat Chia seeds as much as I should – especially since they have a minimal taste. And girl, I think you learned when you were down here after the very first night – nothing is complete without salsa! And chips that have those kinds of stats? Well I’m in too, and imma eat that with you!!!

I recently started mixing chia seeds into quinoa dishes and when I have yogurt. I’ve also bought some snacks that are made with chia seeds.

I love that companies are starting to add Chia to their products. I love the crunch it adds. Would love to try this brand I don’t think I’ve seen them in store around my way 🙂

yummm, i love salsa. i dont even need chips i could eat it on a spoon. (is that gross?) granted, i dont do that because chips are delicious, but i could 🙂

I make energy bars with chia seeds or put them in smoothies. Chia salsa sounds awesome!

I sprinkle chia seeds onto my yogurt in the mornings and sometimes add them to salads or cookies or pasta sauces. They add a great crunch 🙂 And, this package would be an awesome welcome to Chicago gift. Just sayin’ 😉

What an awesome giveaway! The only way that I currently get chia seeds into my diet is in my overnight oats. I would love to have another way of incorporating them into my foods.

To be honest– I don’t incorporate chia into my diet at all right now! That’s one health superfood that I have yet to try; so of course I’d love to give them a try!

I LOVE LOVE chia seeds!! I love them in oatmeal, smoothies, yogurt or even on top of nut butter. They keep me full longer when I add them to my meals.
