T is for Triceps!

by Her Happy Balance on December 18, 2012

So this month I am determined to work on/grow my nonexistent triceps, it is my weakness. So this is the workout I’ve started doing…

After I am through with this, I am usually covered in tons of salty sweat (too much?) and about ready to fall onto the gym floor. Needless to say my muscles could use a little help recovering, and to me that means a protein shake! I recently got a sample of Warrior Blend Raw Protein in Vanilla to try.

I do enjoy the brand name...

Let’s just say, if you’re looking for a really tasty protein shake…well…this probably wont be your top choice. Β Some of its selling points are that it is soy free, dairy free, gluten free and hypoallergenic. It’s everything free…what is even in this shake?! Well it contains 16g of plant based protein, specifically cranberry, pea, and hemp protein. It’s a tad chalky, and by tad I mean really, really chalky…but lets remember it is a protein shake. You’re drinking it mostly for health and not for taste.

Here's the facts!

What triceps exercises do you do? I need variety!

Whats your favorite way to recover after a workout?

I love the stats of this protein powder, but you definitely need to blend it with a banana to reduce the chalkiness! Looks like a great workout!

That workout looks great! I don’t do much for my arms on their own actually, but I do a ton of yoga, so that seems to do the trick πŸ™‚
I’ve heard great things about that protein powder too, but I have yet to try it.

I love working my triceps! Your workout looks awesome. I especially love to do tricep pushups and I love to lay on a bench and hold a heavy dumbbell and do overhead tricep presses while laying down. They are great. Then, while still laying down I bring the dumbbell over my head and bring my arms down to my stomach while holding my elbows close. It’s so hard to explain! Sorry! Good luck!
