Under Armour Marbella Sunglasses

by Her Happy Balance on April 9, 2014

Happy Wednesday, friends! I’m really digging this warmer weather ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve already had the chance to get in a few {windy} outdoor runs and a mountain biking session. Every time I take my mountain bike out, I am quickly reminded how I really need to invest in a cushioned seat. In any case, today I want to share with you one of my new outdoor workout gear favorites.

I had the opportunity to try the new for 2014 Under Armour Marbella sunglasses, a set of shades geared towards female athletes.

UA Marbella glasses

Here’s some of the details on these glasses:

  • Block 100% of UVA, UVB, & UVC rays
  • Have ArmourSightยฎ lens technology which helps deliver up to 20% more undistorted peripheral vision
  • Multiflectionโ„ข lenses are highly resistant to scratching, smudging, and staining
  • Water repellent lenses
  • Equipped with Air Flow Technology so that air can still get through the lens to keep the wearer cooler
  • Part of the ArmourFusionยฎ line, the frames flex and retain their shape while being durable and ultra-lightweight
  • Have a Three Point Grip (nose, and behind both ears) to keep the glasses secure and in place

These frames also apparently come with an adjustable nose piece but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to adjust it. I think maybe the model I was sent does not have this feature or you have to purchase different nose pieces seperately? Either way, it doesn’t really matter much as the glasses fit my face just fine and I wouldn’t really want to change anything there.

I think the color combination of the neon green with black is really fun too, it’s just the right amount of color to make the glasses different and interesting. The grey lenses are ideal for speed, motion and true color detection in super bright sunlight. These shades also come in a white frame and crimson lens. The crimson lenses would be more ideal for low lighting conditions. I personally prefer the black and green pair I have as I think it matches more of my workout attire and I usually do my outdoor workouts during peak sunny hours.

What’s really important to me is that they’re comfortable and don’t leave indents on the side of my nose from wearing them for extended periods of time. They also stayed put on my face while biking up and down hills. And I’m notorious for getting my shades really dirty, mostly by smudging them with my fingertips or getting suntan lotion on them. These lenses are less prone to scratching and smudging. They still smudge every once in a while, but my shades aren’t the blurry disaster that I am used to, plus they seem to be a lot easier to clean than other pairs I have.

The pair I was sent runs for $89.99 which I think is a competitive price for a pair of quality sport glasses. Overall, I am very satisfied with these shades and will be rocking them all throughout the spring and summertime sporting season.

Thoughts?
Do you have a designated pair of sunglasses for different activities? I have a pair for the beach, a pair for the car, and my running shades.
Whats your favorite spring or summertime outdoor activity?

FTC: I was gifted a pair of sunglasses for review purposes, no other compensation was provided. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

These are nice! They really suit you actually! I am terrible with sunglasses, I love them on other people and I KNOW I should wear them…but I used to feel so self conscious. I have one pair which I love now, they are an Australian brand – Cue. Cat eye glasses. So they don’t really suit outdoorsy type sportsy activities. That’s ok though as I’m not really one for outdoor sports. My skin is so pale, I get worried about skin cancer and wrinkles =P

Aww thank you, Samantha! I will definitely have to check out the Cue line! I’m so, so pale too! I just load up on the sunscreen and hope that’s saving my skin ๐Ÿ™‚

Real real cute girl. ๐Ÿ™‚ I, for whatever reason, cannot seem to grasp the concept of wearing sunglasses whilst working out outdoors. I much prefer to wear a hat/visor and squint along the way. I think it’s mostly because I don’t want tan/burn lines on my face… Vain? Yeah, #whocares
Anyway, these are super adorable on you and I’m super jelly you got them sent to you. Why don’t people want to send me free shizz?? ๐Ÿ™‚ Girl, not that it’s the same, but every time I do cycle, I’m reminded that even though I have a fat ass, it is not enough fat to cushion me and that bike seat! I am always sore after an hour on those things!! Have a wonderful day gorg girl! <3<3

Okay, so I can’t pull the visor off. I think it makes me look like a little old Asian lady. Don’t even ask. Sunglasses are my saving grace because otherwise I am squinty mcgee and that is just not cute.

And I definitely have a boo-tay if you catch my drift and it still doesn’t save me from bicycle butt either. That is unpleasant, but biking is just so much fun that I suck it up.
Happy hump day, gorgeous ๐Ÿ™‚

I need a pair of these! I don’t have exercises sunglasses and wearing my fashionable pair is just a disaster! lol

Designating a pair of glasses as “sports glasses” was a good idea for me. I store them with all of my workout accessories and grab them whenever I head out to do outdoor junk. I would never wear the sport glasses for every day because I think they give me bug eyes, but I don’t really care what I look like when I’m sweating my butt off outside as I already look like a hot mess lol

I really want to get some good sunglasses for running, but I think the style that pretty much all the running sunglasses come in looks terrible on me. : (

You are rocking the sunglasses though!

I always thought that too. Most sport glasses don’t fit my face correctly, but I think the look grew on me out of necessity with morning runs. This pair was pretty decent though ๐Ÿ™‚

I love cheap-o sunglasses…so I have 14 pairs of those and they vary with my outfit/bikini ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s smart, you can match everything you wear to zee beach! ๐Ÿ™‚

Love those… they look great on you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you very much! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was pleasantly surprised, usually glasses like this give me bug eyes, these were pretty good though ๐Ÿ™‚

I need a good pair of workout sunglasses. Every pair I have ever tried always rub blisters behind my ears if I am running long distances. They also always seem sort of heavy, like I never forget they are there. I might have to try these out!

Her Happy Balance April 11, 2014 at 10:37 am

I didn’t notice any rubbing, but then again the longest I’ve worn these glasses was for 2 hours so far. This pair was pretty lightweight which I liked. I hope you find the right pair for you in time for summer! ๐Ÿ™‚
