Violet Love Headbands & {Discount}

by Her Happy Balance on February 17, 2014

You guys, this is one review that I have been dying to share with you all 🙂

Okay, so over the years, I have come to learn that my face just does NOT look good in a lot of headbands. In fact, my go-to headbands have been the skinny, plastic kind you can buy at a drugstore because they don’t give me too bad of a headache and don’t make my forehead look absolutely ginormous. I have a few trendier headbands that I occasionally use, but I always find myself gravitating back to my old, faithful ones. Now, it may be a little too early to say, but I think my generic headband days are over because I am seriously #OBSESSED with these new headbands I discovered from Violet Love Headbands.

I was gifted two different headbands to try out and I seriously am in luuuurveee. The patterns are freaking adorable! I picked out the Colette Headband from the Summertime in Paris Collection <--- I want every single headband in this collection. And had the opportunity to try a headband from one of the VL collections that just came out called #ItsaVLRevolution from the Living in a #Hashtag World line. What a cute idea for a collection name! Here’s what they have to say about the headband:

“Something tells us that you are ready. Trust us when we say that you are one of the chosen ones, destined to revolt against the mundane. Show us that you are willing to stand up and represent the VL movement by wearing this multi-colored headband. We are counting on you to lead the charge.”

Love it. The pattern reminded me of the 60s and the flower child age. Considering I am a HUGE fan of the bohemian look it was right up my alley.

Different headbands

Okay, so potentially the coolest part of these headbands is the fact that you can wear them a bunch of different ways – super wide, kind of wide, traditional, and even skinny. The VL site actually has a funky guide on different headband looks you can go for 🙂 I wasn’t sure how the different ways would look on me, but I think I actually like wearing them super wide and kind of wide.

The material {which is PETA-approved vegan} is so soft! And praise the lord these headbands are washable, ain’t nobody got time for sweaty headbands! There isn’t any sort of fabric on the underside to keep the headbands from slipping, but I promise it didn’t budge at all during my workout. Also – no headband headache! Score.

Oh and the designer went to my alma mater – Penn State – so I pretty much think she’s awesome 😉 And all of the headbands are made in the USA. I support it.

Use discount code HASHTAG20 to get 20% off your purchase! This discount expires in one week {Feb. 24, 2014} so excuse me while I go and spend an exorbitant amount of my paycheck on headbands.

What’s your favorite way to wear a headband?
Do you wear headbands solely to the gym or in daily life too?

FTC: I was gifted two VL headbands to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided. And I really do think these headbands rock.

Those headbands are freakin’ adorable! I use bic bands, and they always end up giving me a headache after awhile : /

I’ve actually never tried Bic bands. But I get a headache from so many of the headbands I use if I wear them for too long. Luckily, it was so not the case with these 🙂

There is nothing better than a cute hair accessory, and these are adorable! Love those patterns, and especially love the versatility. I wear headbands to sweat and in everyday life, but really have only bought bic bands in the last year, and I’ve been on the lookout for thicker ones. I feel like these would be great for non-hair washing days too 🙂 I will take a look at these for sure!

Non-hair washing days are becoming more and more frequent for me lol. I just value my sleep entirely too much to want to get up early to wash my hair. Oops 🙂 But you’re so right, I need to start wearing these outside of the gym, too. Happy Tuesday, Meredith! Hope all is well with you girlfriend 🙂

Omg these are so cute!! I love the Colette headband! I’m more of the “kind of wide”, anything to cover my big forehead and make it look smaller 😉

Her Happy Balance February 18, 2014 at 4:14 pm

Kind of wide is cute, right? Plus it keeps the flyways and sweat out of your face better than wearing them skinny does!

Oh man I seriously need to check these out! They look so pretty and I’m a fan of any headband that doesn’t slip at all 🙂

Her Happy Balance February 18, 2014 at 4:15 pm

I wore these headbands on runs and to the gym and I didn’t have any problems with them slipping. I did occasionally readjust the size of the band though, making them a little less wide. They have so many cute patterns it was hard to tell myself only to buy a few more lol!

Oh hun these look awesome! I typically only wear headbands to the gym or with the boys, but I would wear something like this out with friends. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Her Happy Balance February 18, 2014 at 4:19 pm

They have tons of cute patterns! I vote you #treatyoself to one 🙂 And then immediately book a girls’ night with your lady friends to show it off. I’ll take any excuse for a night out with friends 😉

I can 100% relate to that first paragraph. I have such a love/hate relationship with headbands (especially how giant my forehead ends up looking), so I stick with the skinny ones from Target/Walmart.

Her Happy Balance February 18, 2014 at 4:16 pm

I’m glad I’m not the only one with forehead troubles! Seriously, some headbands just do a disservice to my face haha. These were nice because I could actually use them to cover up some of my forehead 😉 I was being sneaky with them haha.

You have the best giveaways!!! Love love love these headbands! I love wearing headbands to push the bangs out of my face.

I meant reviews…obvi. It’s been a long day.

Girl, it’s Tuesday, go #treatyoself to a headband! They have soooo many cute patterns. I had to talk myself down to only buying another 2 lol.

Heather @fitncookies February 18, 2014 at 10:06 am

I love wearing headbands but so many of them hurt my head after a while. These look like they would stay put but not hurt my head!

Her Happy Balance February 18, 2014 at 4:18 pm

Pinky promise no headband headache with these! Isn’t that just the worst feeling?!
